The Newmarket Hurricanes tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Pickering Panthers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Pickering made the score 3-1 on a goal by Kevin Dimagno at 18:40 in the second period, and Newmarket got as close as 3-2 when Nick Boddy scored 12:56 into the third period. Nicholas Lepone was all over the ice for the Panthers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Lepone scored the first of his two goals at 4:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Blake Coffey picked up the assist. Lepone's next tally made the score 2-1 Pickering with 5:14 left in the second period. Dimagno assisted on the tally. Pickering's offense rang up 35 shots on the Hurricanes' net. Pickering additionally got points from Dimagno, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and BJ Salerno, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Matteo Condotta, who had one and Joseph Mitchell, who had three. Newmarket was led by Taylor Joseph, who registered one goal and one assist.
