Oakville downs Toronto Jr. Canadiens in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Fri, Oct 10, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens on a clutch goal by Tyler Rollo. Oakville overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Blades fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Toronto Jr. Canadiens' Anthony Trujillo at 10:28 in the second period. Oakville tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Matthew Lippa at 17:52 in the third period. Rollo had a great game for the Blades, netting two goals. Rollo scored at 4:04 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Toronto Jr. Canadiens and again while 1:05 into the fifth to make the score 4-3 Oakville. Oakville's offense rang up 44 shots on the Junior Canadiens' net. Oakville additionally got points from Jackson Bales, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Oakville came via Tanner Shaw, Max Lindsay, Ryan Burns, Greg Campbell, Christian Rajic, and Ryan Garvey, who each chipped in one. Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced the Blades' goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 31 shots and forcing 28 saves. Daniel Mannella made 18 stops and Brendan McGlynn made 10. The Junior Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Toronto Jr. Canadiens was helped by Anthony Repaci, who racked up one goal. Repaci scored on the power play 6:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. A slashing penalty on Rajic had put the Junior Canadiens on the power play. Justin Maiolino provided the assist. Nicholas Jarzabek also scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Ryan Kruss, who had two and Kennedy Duguid and Andrew Mullen, who contributed one each. Oakville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nicholas Destounis made 40 saves for Toronto Jr. Canadiens on 44 shots. The Junior Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
