The Cobourg Cougars beat the Wellington Dukes, 1-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Stefano Durante frustrated Wellington's offense all game, and stopped 30 shots en route to a shutout. The solid play of Durante will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.2.

The Cougars were paced by Gibson, who finished with one goal.

Cobourg put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Dukes to score on any of their five power plays. The Cougars were held below their usual level of production.
