Trenton beats Kingston 6-4 after comeback scare

The Kingston Voyageurs tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Trenton Golden Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

A goal by Kevin Lavoie put Trenton up 6-3 in the second period, but Kingston pulled to within two on Spencer Green's tally 17:52 into the third period.

Danny Liscio had a great game for the Golden Hawks, netting two goals. Liscio's tallies came on the power play at 9:42 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Trenton and 12:25 into the second to make the score 5-3 Trenton.

Trenton forced the Voyageurs goalie Matt Penta to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Golden Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Trenton also got a goal from Kyle Tanev as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Chrisitian Lloyd, who had three and Liam Morgan and Braden Hellems, who contributed two each.

Kingston's offense rang up 31 shots on Trenton's net.

Kingston also got points from Adam Brady, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Ryan Watson and Alex Stothart, who each put in one. More assists for Kingston came via Joey Beaudoin, who had two and Josh Hicks and Colin Tonge, who each chipped in one.

Justin Kapelmaster rejected 27 shots on goal for the Golden Hawks. Trenton registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Penta recorded 34 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
