Curtis Harvey tallied one point to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes to a 2-1 victory over the Milton Icehawks. Newmarket's offense rang up 35 shots on Milton's net. Sam Hu also scored for Newmarket. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Nick Boddy, Nik Coric, Cameron Nicoll, and Jacob Piltzmaker, who contributed one each. The Icehawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hurricanes to score on any of their six power plays. Milton was held below its usual level of production. The Icehawks average 3.1 goals per game. Milton was led by Alex Riche, who scored the team's only goal. Riche scored on the power play 16:50 into the third period to make the score 1-1. A too many men penalty on Taylor Joseph had put the Icehawks on the power play. Michael Martellacci provided the assist. Tyler Richardson recorded 20 saves for Newmarket. The Hurricanes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tyler Lewis made 33 saves for Milton on 35 shots. The Icehawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
