Behind a great game by Anthony Marra, who had two goals and three assists, the Georgetown Raiders defeated the St. Michaels Buzzers, 7-0. Marra found the back of the net 18:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown and again while 6:52 into the second to make the score 4-0 Georgetown.Marc Williams frustrated St. Michaels' offense all game, and stopped 26 shots en route to a shutout. The solid play of Williams will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.26. Georgetown put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Buzzers to score on any of their five power plays. The Raiders was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Georgetown allows 2.1 goals per game. The Raiders kept St. Michaels' goalie busy throughout the game, and George Argiropoulos made 30 saves on 37 shots. Georgetown's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Raiders average 3.8 goals per contest. Georgetown additionally got points from Steve Hladin, who also registered two goals and two assists and John Adams, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Georgetown included Zack Dybowski and Blake Jones, who each put in one. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Brendan Jacome, who had two and Eric Eustace, Thomas Welsh, Nick Iafrate, and Francois Cote, who contributed one each. The Buzzers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Michaels puts an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. The Buzzers' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Georgetown's power play unit. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. St. Michaels incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
