Trenton squeaks by Orangeville, 4-2

The Trenton Golden Hawks gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Orangeville Flyers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Aidan Parker secured the win for Trenton with a goal in the third period.

Parker had a great game for the Golden Hawks, netting two goals.

Orangeville's power play was ineffective against Trenton's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Golden Hawks kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Wyatt Pickrell made 29 saves on 33 shots.

Trenton additionally got points from Danny Liscio, who also had one goal and one assist. Trenton also got a goal from Nick Santoro as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Blayne Oliver, who had two and Liam Morgan, Christian DiFelice, Michael Siddall, Hunter Fargey, and Braden Hellems, who each chipped in one.

Orangeville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

The Flyers were led by Lucas Smilsky, who racked up two goals. Smilsky scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. Orangeville earned a power play opportunity when Robert Smythe was put in the box for interference. Ryan DaSilva assisted on the tally. Smilsky's next tally on the power play made the score 2-0 Orangeville with 14:12 left in the second period. Kosta Likourezos picked up the assist. More assists for Orangeville came via Ian Nichols, who had one.

Justin Kapelmaster recorded 26 saves for Trenton. The Golden Hawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
