Toronto Patriots erases deficit to stun North York, 4-3

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Toronto Patriots Patriots battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the North York Rangers.

Toronto Patriots let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Patriots took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Marcus Rose at 3:25 in the first period. Toronto Patriots went down 3-1 after North York's Ted Hunt put the puck home short handed at 4:09 in the second period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Marco Bozzo at 4:00 in the third, the Patriots got the game-winner from Quinn Syrydiuk at 12:55 in the third period.

Rose had a great game for Toronto Patriots, netting two goals.

In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Ryall Ledyard, Brett Markham, Jacob Hayhurst, and Connor Beck, who contributed one each and Niko Kovachis and Louis DiMatteo, who each chipped in two.

The Rangers were helped by Matthew Whittaker, who had one goal. Whittaker scored 18 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 North York. Will Reilly also scored for North York. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Michael Morgan, who had two and Gabriel Valenzuela and Christian Zanetti, who contributed one each.

Mathew Robson made 17 saves for the Patriots on 20 shots. Toronto Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. North York's Gianluca Baggetta stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. North York ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Whittaker was ejected from the game.
