Hamilton completes comeback, beats Toronto Patriots, 4-3

Undaunted by a three-goal deficit, the Hamilton Red Wings battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Patriots Patriots.

Hamilton never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Red Wings fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Toronto Patriots' Jeremy Pullara at 15:58 in the first period. Hamilton knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Laine McKay at 1:14 in the third period. The Red Wings scored the game winner at 14:30 in the third period on a goal by McKay.

Hamilton was boosted by Alexander Bishop, who turned in a shutout with 27 saves. Bishop managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.41 prior to the game.

The Red Wings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Toronto Patriots power plays. Hamilton's offense rang up 34 shots on the Patriots' net.

The Red Wings were helped by Rylee St. Onge, who had one goal. Hamilton also got points from Ryan Punkari, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Hamilton also got a goal from Josh LaFrance as well. More assists for Hamilton came via Luke Sinclair, who had two and Jason OConnor, Matt Smith, Carl Greco, Ryan Erickson, and Giovanni Foschia, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Patriots' offense rang up 41 shots on Hamilton's net.

Nicholas Geiser also scored for Toronto Patriots. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Tyler Currie, Mario Ferraro, Luke Carter, Connor Beck, and Quinn Syrydiuk, who contributed one each.

The Red Wings totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Hamilton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Punkari was ejected from the game. Emanuel Vella made 30 saves for the Patriots on 34 shots. Toronto Patriots ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors. For the Patriots, James Sterne and Beau Browning were ejected from the contest.
