The North York Rangers almost clawed their way back from a four-goal deficit, but the Pickering Panthers managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end. Pickering led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Panthers' Chris Sekelyk scored at 8:00 in the second period to put Pickering up 5-1. The Panthers forced North York's netminders to work without much rest, launching 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Andrew Cipollone made 11 stops and Gianluca Baggetta made 18. Pickering was helped by Riley Devine, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Devine scored the first of his two goals at 4:19 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Pickering. BJ Salerno assisted on the tally. Devine's next tally made the score 6-4 Pickering with 14 seconds left in the third period. Salerno picked up the assist. Pickering additionally got points from Salerno, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Pickering included Lucas Condotta and Mark Tenuta, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Cam Palmer, who had two and Dalton Lawrence, Joseph Mitchell, and Blake Coffey, who each chipped in one. The Rangers forced the Panthers goalie Eric Pitcher to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. North York was led by Matthew Whittaker, who registered one goal and two assists. Whittaker scored 16:51 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Pickering. Jeremy Szabo assisted on the tally. North York also got points from Gabriel Valenzuela, who also finished with one goal and one assist. North York also had goals scored by Ted Hunt and Michael Morgan, who scored one goal each. In addition, North York received assists from Ryan Takamatsu, Zack Fisher, and Brett Seldon, who contributed one each. Pickering's Pitcher stopped 43 shots out of the 47 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
