Toronto Jr. Canadiens beats Wellington 2-1 after comeback scare

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens survived a determined comeback attempt by the Wellington Dukes on the way to a 2-1 win.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens made the score 2-0 on a goal by Luca Farrace at 6:00 in the second period, and Wellington got as close as 2-1 when Abbott Girduckis scored 1:39 into the third period.

The Junior Canadiens' Nathan Colitto was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. Colitto managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.8 prior to the game.

The Dukes were unable to stop Toronto Jr. Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and the Junior Canadiens eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Anthony Repaci also scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Matthew Ferrari, who had two.

Wellington stifled Toronto Jr. Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Dukes' offense rang up 32 shots on the Junior Canadiens' net.

In addition, Wellington received assists from Andrew Coupland and Erick Delaurentis, who contributed one each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Wellington's Olie Lafreniere stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
