Feaver, Whitby blank Georgetown, 6-1

The Whitby Fury used a sparkling performance by Tyler Feaver to take down the Georgetown Raiders, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Whitby's 6-1 shutout victory.

The Fury's penalty kill excelled, as Whitby gave up one goal despite allowing 10 power plays.

The Fury were often in penalty trouble, totaling 13 minors and two majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. Whitby surpassed its season average of 30.0 penalty minutes per game. Team could not crack Georgetown's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 13 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

The Fury were led by Ryan Kirkup, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kirkup scored on the power play 6:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Whitby. Adam Clements picked up the assist. Whitby also got points from Clements, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Whitby also had goals scored by Jack Scanlan, Mitchell Burghardt, Henry Thompson, and Mitch Emerson, who each put in one. In addition, Whitby received assists from Austin Fischer, Jonathan OHara, Matt Fischer, and Davis Kuksis, who each chipped in one and Zack Elson and Jeremy Wu, who contributed two each.

The Raiders racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 81 minutes in penalty time. Georgetown had been averaging 34.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Raiders forced Whitby's goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 34 shots and forcing 33 saves. Feaver made 26 stops and Austin Cain made seven. Georgetown did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Raiders average 4.0 goals per game.

Team's Fischer and Fischer were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Georgetown's starting goalie, Marc Williams, made 11 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Jack LaFontaine, who stopped 12 shots. For the Raiders, Carmine Alberga, Scott Emerson, and Kyle Allan were ejected from the contest.
