A stellar performance between the pipes by Connor Ryckman helped the Newmarket Hurricanes defeat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 2-1.

Newmarket was led by Cameron Nicoll, who tallied one goal and one assist. Nicoll scored 12:07 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Newmarket.

Newmarket also got a goal from Nik Coric as well. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Jacob Piltzmaker, who had one.

St. Michaels was held below its usual level of production. The Buzzers put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

St. Michaels was led by Luca Doctor, who scored the team's only goal. Doctor scored 17:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Joseph Berton assisted on the tally.

The Hurricanes' Ryckman stopped 27 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Newmarket incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. George Argiropoulos made 27 saves for the Buzzers on 29 shots. St. Michaels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bron Loiselle was ejected from the game.
