Huge game by McKay boosts Hamilton over Burlington, 6-2

Laine McKay was all over the ice for the Hamilton Red Wings, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Hamilton's 6-2 win over the Burlington Cougars.

McKay got on the board by slotting home a goal 8:06 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Hamilton. Rylee St. Onge provided the assist. McKay dished an assist on Josh LaFrance's goal that made the score 2-1 Hamilton at 11:32 into the first period. He then added assists on Ryan Erickson's goal at 10:38 into the second and on LaFrance's goal at 3:42 into the third.

Burlington was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Red Wings were able to score four times while on the power play.

Hamilton kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Evgueni Makarski made 37 saves on 43 shots.

Hamilton also got points from LaFrance, who also racked up two goals and two assists and Erickson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Hamilton also had goals scored by Alexander Carlson and Anthony Lisi, who each put in one. In addition, Hamilton received assists from Jonathan Prasnjak, Jeff Joynt, Luke Sinclair, and Jason OConnor, who contributed one each.

Burlington was helped by Dante Felicetti, who registered one goal. Felicetti scored 1:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Ben Scheel picked up the assist. Nathan Fiorino also scored for Burlington. More assists for Burlington came via Steve Mariani and Ben Morris, who each chipped in one.

Mark Sinclair recorded 27 saves for the Red Wings. Hamilton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Cougars incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
