In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Toronto Patriots Patriots escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Cobourg Cougars. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jacob Hayhurst secured the win for Toronto Patriots with a goal in the third period. Hayhurst had a great game for the Patriots, netting two goals. James Sterne also scored for Toronto Patriots. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Tyler Currie, Brett Markham, Niko Kovachis, Nicholas Ursitti, and Matthew Cairns, who contributed one each. Cobourg stifled Toronto Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cougars kept the Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mathew Robson made 31 saves on 33 shots. Cobourg was helped by Ryan Taylor, who tallied one goal. Taylor scored 11:54 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cobourg. Spencer Holt picked up the assist. Cobourg also got a goal from Mitchell Gibson as well. More assists for Cobourg came via Liam Grande and Riley Stillman, who each chipped in one. Toronto Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Austin Washkurak made 25 saves for the Cougars on 28 shots. Cobourg incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
