North York rolls over St. Michaels, 8-4

The St. Michaels Buzzers had trouble finding ways to stop the North York Rangers, which beat Buzzers, 8-4.

North York got the win with help from a great game by Ted Hunt, who had two goals and one assist. Hunt scored the first of his two goals at 11:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jake Harris picked up the assist. Hunt's next tally made the score 5-1 North York with 19:29 left in the third period. The Rangers had taken the advantage when St. Michaels' Luca Doctor got sent off for slashing. Gabriel Valenzuela assisted on the tally.

North York pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Buzzers were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and North York eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Rangers outdid their season average for goals scored. North York averages 3.4 goals per game.

North York also got points from Ryan Takamatsu, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Matthew Whittaker, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. North York also had goals scored by Kyle Clarke, Zack Fisher, and Nick Zanette, who scored one goal each. In addition, North York received assists from Jeremy Szabo, Anthony Paveglio, Luke Kutkevicius, Brett Seldon, and Will Reilly, who each chipped in one and Phillip Chadder and Max Novick, who contributed two each.

St. Michaels' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

The Buzzers were led by Ashur Elliot, who finished with one goal and two assists. Elliot scored 3:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Joseph Berton picked up the assist. Others who scored for St. Michaels included Ian Edmondson and Marcel Fatovic, who each put in one. More assists for St. Michaels came via Noah Jordan, who had one and Thomas Beretta, who had two.

Gianluca Baggetta recorded 24 saves for the Rangers. North York registered one goal on three power play opportunities. St. Michaels' George Argiropoulos stopped 26 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Buzzers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
