Proctor Academy downs St. Andrews College in overtime, 4-3 (OT)UNH Whittemore Center Sun, Jan 04, 2015 Proctor Academy pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the St. Andrews College Saints on a clutch goal by Josh Talanian. Proctor Academy almost relinquished a two-score lead. Proctor Academy made it 3-1 on a goal by Reilly Walsh at 50 seconds in the third period. St. Andrews College got to within 3-2 on a goal by Emil Hiiri at 16:18 in the third period. Jake Pappalardo and Talanian provided the spark for Proctor Academy, combining for two goals and four assists. Pappalardo registered one goal and three assists and Talanian also notched one goal and one assist. The defensemen of Proctor Academy were also effective in the Saints' zone, and came away with two goals. Proctor Academy also got points from Talanian, who also had one goal and one assist. Matt Slick also scored for Proctor Academy. In addition, Proctor Academy received assists from Nick Collins, Jack Hall, and Derek Britner, who each chipped in one. St. Andrews College kept Proctor Academy's goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Simpson made 39 saves on 42 shots. The Saints' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. St. Andrews College averages 1.7 goal allowed per game. The Saints were helped by Jacob Miller, who finished with two goals. Miller scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Andrews College. St. Andrews College had taken the advantage when Proctor Academy's Collins got sent off for slashing. Hiiri picked up the assist. Miller's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 2:57 left in the third period. Otto Saarimaa provided the assist. St. Andrews College additionally got points from Hiiri, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for St. Andrews College came via Calvin Walker, Alex MacDonald, and Mitchell Martan, who contributed one each. Proctor Academy incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matthew Galajda recorded 23 saves for the Saints. St. Andrews College incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
