St. Andrews College rolls over Appleby College, 5-1LaBrier Family Arena Wed, Jan 21, 2015 The St. Andrews College Saints were firing on all cylinders against the Appleby College Blue Dogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Saints emerged with a 5-1 win. St. Andrews College was paced by Jacob Miller, who registered one goal. Miller scored 4:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Andrews College. Alex MacDonald picked up the assist. The Saints stifled Appleby College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Andrews College kept the Blue Dogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Avery Gobbo made 32 saves on 37 shots. St. Andrews College additionally got points from Adam Sinclair, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and MacDonald, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for St. Andrews College included JD Falconer and Emil Hiiri, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Andrews College received assists from Justin Fregona, Otto Saarimaa, Quentin Campbell, and Griffin James, who contributed one each. Appleby College's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Andrews College power plays. The Blue Dogs were led by Jonathan Giordano, who scored the team's only goal. Giordano scored 3:46 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Andrew Tarasca assisted on the tally. Cole Chapman made 15 saves for the Saints on 16 shots. St. Andrews College incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Appleby College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
