St. Andrews College beats St. Michaels College 3-1 after comeback scare

The St. Michaels College Majors tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the St. Andrews College Saints held on for a 3-1 victory.

A goal by Justin Fregona put St. Andrews College up 3-0 in the third period, but St. Michaels College pulled to within two on Marco Violo's tally 17:37 into the third period.

The Saints were led by JD Falconer, who racked up one goal. Falconer scored on the power play 7:21 into the third period to make the score 2-0 St. Andrews College. St. Andrews College had taken the advantage when the Majors' Daniel Tyrrell got sent off for slashing. Adam Sinclair provided the assist.

The Saints' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Michaels College power plays. St. Andrews College kept St. Michaels College's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jack Edmands made 34 saves on 37 shots.

St. Andrews College additionally got points from Fregona, who also had one goal and one assist. Quentin Campbell also scored for St. Andrews College. More assists for St. Andrews College came via Matthew Galajda, who had one and Jacob Miller, who had two.

The Saints' Galajda stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. St. Andrews College incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Saints ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Griffin James was ejected from the game. The Majors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
