Nichols School wins tough contest against St. Andrews College, 4-2LaBrier Family Arena Sat, Nov 22, 2014 The game between the Nichols School Vikings and the St. Andrews College Saints was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Nichols School emerged with a 4-2 win. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Carson Gicewicz's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker. The Vikings were led by Erik Urbank, who had one goal. Urbank scored 5:53 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nichols School. Nichols School also had goals scored by Nick Passafiume and Dylan Seitz, who scored one goal each. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Zac Herrmann, Harrison Oates, Matt Gasuik, and Sam Jones, who contributed one each. St. Andrews College's offense operated below its season average. The Saints put an average of 4.9 pucks into the net per game. St. Andrews College forced Nichols School goalie Aaron Fanti to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Saints' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. St. Andrews College gives up 1.6 goal per game. The Saints were helped by Darren Iwai, who racked up one goal. Iwai scored on the power play 6:50 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Nichols School. St. Andrews College earned a power play opportunity when Anthony Scanzuso was put in the box for holding. Reid Yochim picked up the assist. St. Andrews College also got a goal from JD Falconer as well. More assists for St. Andrews College came via Matthew Thom and Austin Cho, who each chipped in one. The Vikings' Fanti stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Nichols School incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matthew Galajda rejected 22 shots on goal for the Saints.
