Cody Brown had two goals to lead the Caledonia Corvairs to a 4-1 victory over the Waterloo Siskins. Brown scored at 10:19 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia and again while 6:47 into the third to make the score 3-0 Caledonia.The win by Caledonia clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The Corvairs stifled Waterloo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Caledonia forced the Siskins goalie Leo Lazarev to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Others who scored for Caledonia included Connor Patton and Mitch Brown, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Ryan Moran, Brier Jonathan, and Jeffrey Malott, who each chipped in one and Spencer Gourlay and Jordan Peacock, who contributed two each. Waterloo was led by Troy Lajeunesse, who scored the team's only goal. Lajeunesse scored 16:47 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Caledonia. Matt Martin provided the assist. Colin Furlong rejected 23 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Siskins' Lazarev stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Waterloo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
