Toronto Lakeshore beats Aurora 3-2 after comeback scare

The Aurora Tigers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Doug Bonar put Toronto Lakeshore up 3-1 in the third period, but Aurora pulled to within one on Eric Williams's tally 17:07 into the third period.

The win gave the Patriots a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Toronto Lakeshore was led by Bonar, who had one goal and one assist. Bonar scored 9:48 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Toronto Lakeshore. Nathan Feric assisted on the tally.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Feric, who also registered one goal and one assist and Michael Prapavessis, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Andreas Tsogkas, who had one and Kevin Shier, who had two.

The Tigers' offense rang up 34 shots on the Patriots' net.

Aurora additionally got points from Dylan Sikura, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Aurora received assists from Taylor McCloy, Noah Delmas, and Robert Angiolella, who contributed one each.

Evan Buitenhuis recorded 32 saves for Toronto Lakeshore. The Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Aurora's Kevin Entmaa stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Tigers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For Aurora, Calvin Higley was ejected from the game.
