Missouri falls to Arizona in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Arizona Sundogs pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Missouri Mavericks on a clutch goal by Kevin Baker.

The win by Arizona clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Sundogs came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Arizona trailed 3-1 after a goal by Missouri's Colten Hayes at 7:25 in the second period. The Sundogs knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Shawn Limpright at 10:09 in the third period.

Arizona got the win with help from a great game by Baker, who had two goals and one assist. Baker scored the first of his two goals at 18:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alex Tuckerman assisted on the tally. Baker's next tally made the score 4-3 Arizona with 52 seconds left in. David Rutherford picked up the assist.

The Sundogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Mavericks were unable to stop Arizona from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sundogs eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Arizona also got points from Paul McIlveen, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Arizona received assists from Michael Couch and Jason Morgan, who contributed one each.

Missouri kept Arizona's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Engelage made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Missouri additionally got points from Eric Castonguay, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Mike Ramsay, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Sebastien Thinel, who had two and Obi Aduba and Matt Stephenson, who each chipped in one.

The Sundogs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Mavericks' Shane Owen stopped 38 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Missouri incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
