Idaho Junior Steelheads falls to Fresno Monsters in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Fresno Monsters' Dak Dice scored 4:51 into overtime to beat Idaho Junior Steelheads, 4-3 (OT).

Fresno Monsters overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Fresno Monsters trailed 4-2 after a power play goal by Idaho Junior Steelheads' Dice at 13:45 in the third period. Fresno Monsters tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Carter Dahl at 16:55 in the fourth period.

Fresno Monsters pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 36 penalty minutes.

Fresno Monsters forced Idaho Junior Steelheads goalie Sean Healy to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Fresno Monsters had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances.

Fresno Monsters also had goals scored by Mike Nolan, Jordan Fontaine, and Justin Plate, who scored one goal each. In addition, Fresno Monsters received assists from Dan Fitzgerald, Corey Sikich, Mike Fabie, Alex Schwartz, Jacob Haynes, and Austin Piquette, who each chipped in one.

Idaho Junior Steelheads was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

Idaho Junior Steelheads additionally got points from Hunter Lester, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Idaho Junior Steelheads also got a goal from Kyle Williams as well. Other players who recorded assists for Idaho Junior Steelheads were Ian Patrican, Jesper Jensen, and Victor Carlsson, who contributed one each.

Piquette recorded 18 saves for Fresno Monsters. Idaho Junior Steelheads' Healy stopped 44 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Idaho Junior Steelheads registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
