BURLINGTON tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but OAKVILLE held on for a 3-2 victory. OAKVILLE made the score 2-0 on a goal by Christina Putigna at 4:12 in the third period, and BURLINGTON got as close as 2-1 when Jessie Rietveld scored 5:03 into the third period. Putigna was all over the ice for OAKVILLE, as she finished with two goals in the win. OAKVILLE excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Cassidy MacPherson also scored for OAKVILLE. Other players who recorded assists for OAKVILLE were Olivia Atkinson (A), Jordan Martin, Rebecca Daniel, Kirsten Miller, and Jamie Watson, who each chipped in one. BURLINGTON was helped by Rachel Armstrong, who registered one goal. Armstrong scored 5:35 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Megan Delay picked up the assist. In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Logan Boyd, who had one. Daniela Paniccia recorded 21 saves for OAKVILLE. OAKVILLE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. BURLINGTON's Kyra OBrien stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that she faced. BURLINGTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
