Brantford completes comeback, beats Dundas, 6-4

The Dundas Real McCoys could not hold down the Brantford Blast, and Blast erased a three-goal deficit en route to a 6-4 win.

Brantford never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Blast fell behind 3-0 after a power play goal by Dundas' Darryl Smith at 7:09 in the second period. Brantford tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Jeff Caister at 10:45 in the third period. The Blast got the game winner at 15:38 in the third period on a goal by Caister.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, the Real McCoys face elimination next time out.

Chris Leveille had one goal and two assists to lead Brantford.

The Blast kept Dundas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mike Mole made 28 saves on 34 shots. Brantford got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Brantford also got points from Kyle Spurr, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Caister, who also had one goal and one assist, Mike Burgoyne, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Joel Prpic, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Cam Sault also scored for Brantford. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were Chad Spurr, who had two and Jeremy Bloomfield and Brandon Dietrich, who contributed one each.

Dundas also had goals scored by Nick Smith and Justin Davis, who scored one goal each. More assists for Dundas came via Dave Bowman, who had two and Cam Watson, Scott Mifsud, Ryan Christie, and Jason Ward, who each chipped in one.

Brett Leggat rejected 23 shots on goal for the Blast. Brantford incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Real McCoys incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
