Aurora squeaks by Cobourg, 4-2Cobourg Community Centre Sun, Mar 23, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Aurora Tigers and the Cobourg Cougars was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Aurora emerged with a 4-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Curtis Warren secured the win for the Tigers with a goal in the third period. Aurora evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven. Warren was all over the ice for the Tigers, as he racked up two goals in the win. Aurora kept Cobourg's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Perry made 27 saves on 31 shots. Aurora also had goals scored by Mihkel Poldma and Robert Angiolella, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Dylan Sikura, Michael Laidley, and Adam DiBrina, who contributed one each. The Cougars' offense rang up 31 shots on the Tigers' net. Cobourg was helped by Connor Armour, who finished with one goal. Armour scored 6:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Mason Marchment assisted on the tally. Nick Neal also scored for Cobourg. More assists for Cobourg came via Jake Emilio, who had one. Kevin Entmaa made 29 saves for Aurora on 31 shots. The Tigers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cobourg ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Landon Schiller was ejected from the game.
