Matt Fischer gave the Penetang Kings a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Alliston Hornets when he scored 11:23 into the extra period. After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Alliston faces elimination next time out. Fischer had two goals to lead Penetang to victory. The Kings' offense rang up 44 shots on the Hornets' net. The defensemen of Penetang were also effective in Alliston's zone, and came away with two goals. Penetang additionally got points from Hayden Cole, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Penetang also had goals scored by Ryan Shaw and Tyler Marchand, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Jordan Schwartz, who had two, Jack Scanlan, who had four, and Ryan Young and Mac Flewelling, who contributed one each. The Kings were unable to stop the Hornets from sending pucks towards the net, and Alliston eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Hornets were led by David Leblanc, who registered one goal and two assists. Leblanc scored 7:30 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Sean Anderson picked up the assist. Others who scored for Alliston included Tanner Dockerty, Mark ODonnell, and Dakota Brooks, who each put in one. More assists for Alliston came via William Brandon, who had one and Jamie Bennett, who had two. Penetang's Adam Redgate stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Brindle made 39 saves for Alliston on 44 shots. The Hornets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
