Huge game by Larson boosts Lakefield over Uxbridge, 6-1

Behind a great game by Nathan Larson, who had two goals and two assists, the Lakefield Chiefs defeated the Uxbridge Bruins, 6-1.

Larson's tallies came at 4:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lakefield and short handed 18:36 into the third to make the score 6-1 Lakefield.

The win by Lakefield clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Chiefs' penalty kill excelled, as Lakefield gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

The Chiefs forced Bruins' goalies to work all game long, firing 41 shots and forcing 35 saves. Max Tjin made 31 stops and Cody Northover made four. Lakefield stifled Uxbridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Lakefield also got points from Travis Brault, who also grabbed two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Lakefield included William Sullivan and Jordan Walsh, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakefield received assists from Connor Blair, who had two and Ryan Anderson, Jesse Gregory, Eric Oosting, and Derek Manley, who contributed one each.

The Bruins were led by Matt Pollard, who scored the team's only goal. Pollard scored 18:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. Jarett Smith assisted on the tally.

Zach Wainman rejected 24 shots on goal for the Chiefs. Lakefield incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Uxbridge incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
