The Welland Jr. Canadians, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Niagara Falls Canucks and clinched a 3-2 victory. Welland led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Jr. Canadians' Adam Mataya's scored on the power play at 3:31 in the second period to put Welland up 3-0. After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Niagara Falls faces elimination next time out. Mataya was all over the ice for the Jr. Canadians, as he tallied two goals in the win. In a losing effort, the Canucks were paced by Johnny Curran, who grabbed two goals. Curran scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:18 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Welland. Niagara Falls had gained a power play chance when Brayden Stortz was whistled for tripping. Garrett Gallardi provided the assist. Curran's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Welland with 9:48 left in the second period. A too many men penalty on Christian DiFonzo had put the Canucks on the power play. Marcus Michalski picked up the assist. Welland forced Niagara Falls goalie Emerson Verrier to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. In addition, Welland received assists from Francois Plamondon, Jack Fitzgerald, Bryan Komasara, and Jimmy Sheehan, who each chipped in one. The Canucks' offense rang up 43 shots on the Jr. Canadians' net. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were MacKenzie Wood, who had one. Jeffrey Heartwell rejected 41 shots on goal for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Verrier recorded 30 saves for Niagara Falls. The Canucks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
