Rhyno's big game bests Lambeth in 6-3 Dorchester win

Behind a great game by Shayne Rhyno, who had two goals and one assist, the Dorchester Dolphins defeated the Lambeth Lancers, 6-3.

Rhyno's tallies came on the power play at 19:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dorchester and on the power play 6:26 into the second to make the score 3-0 Dorchester.

The win by Dorchester clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

The Dolphins' penalty kill excelled, as Dorchester gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Dolphins kept Lambeth's goalie busy throughout the game, and JP Trudell made 26 saves on 32 shots. Dorchester cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on four chances.

Dorchester additionally got points from Brendon O Shaughnessy, who also registered one goal and one assist and Gus Ford, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dorchester included Patrick Freel and Bryan McCauley, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Cale Duberry, who had two, Matt Ross, who had three, and Chad Brulotte, Tommy Prokes, and Tyler Kerr, who each chipped in one.

The Lancers forced the Dolphins goalie Craig Wood to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Lambeth was led by Mitch Furlonger, who had two goals and one assist. Furlonger scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:49 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Dorchester. A tripping penalty on Matt Cormier had put the Lancers on the power play. Kale Corbeth picked up the assist. Furlonger's next tally on the power play made the score 6-3 Dorchester with eight seconds left in the third period. Tanner Smith assisted on the tally. Lambeth also got points from Smith, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Nick North, who had one.

Wood rejected 32 shots on goal for Dorchester. The Dolphins incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lambeth incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
