Mississauga falls to Buffalo in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Pat Egan gave the Buffalo Jr. Sabres a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Mississauga Chargers when he scored 2:41 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Mississauga faces elimination next time out.

Buffalo was sparked by Egan, who registered one goal and one assist.

The Chargers were unable to stop the Jr. Sabres from sending pucks towards the net, and Buffalo eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Buffalo also got points from Daniel Lafontaine, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Nolan Sheeran, who also had one goal and one assist. Buffalo also had goals scored by Nick Desimone and Max Mikowski, who scored one goal each. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Michael Ederer, who had two and Ryan Schmelzer and Tim Kielich, who each chipped in one.

Mississauga's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Chargers were helped by Lucas Venuto, who finished with one goal and one assist. Venuto scored 5:59 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Mitch Mehling provided the assist. Mississauga additionally got points from Trevor Warnaar, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ayrton Valente, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mississauga also got a goal from Nick Tetley as well. More assists for Mississauga came via Patrick Mooney, Cory Hyashi, and Matt Hore, who contributed one each.

The Jr. Sabres' Joseph Pianta stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Buffalo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Austin Washkurak made 28 saves for Mississauga on 33 shots. The Chargers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mississauga ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Joseph Molinaro was ejected from the game.
