North York downs St. Michaels in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Zachary Fung gave the North York Rangers a 4-3 (OT) victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers when he scored 8:38 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, St. Michaels faces elimination next time out.

North York got the win on the strength of a great game by John Carpino, who had two goals and one assist. Carpino scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:43 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Rangers had gained a power play chance when Ian Edmondson was whistled for interference. Liam Kerins picked up the assist. Carpino's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 North York with 14:44 left in the third period. Kerins assisted on the tally.

North York forced the Buzzers goalie George Argiropoulos to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

North York also got points from Patrick Piacentini, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Adam Valadao, who had two and Gabriel Valenzuela and Matthew Whittaker, who contributed one each.

St. Michaels kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jason Pucciarelli made 39 saves on 42 shots.

The Buzzers were helped by CJ Shugart, who had one goal. Shugart scored on the power play 15:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels. St. Michaels had gotten the advantage when North York's Valenzuela was sent off for tripping. Jake Evans provided the assist. Others who scored for St. Michaels included David Italiano and Matt Alvaro, who each put in one. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Thomas Beretta, who had one.

The Rangers incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. George Argiropoulos made 35 saves for the Buzzers on 39 shots. St. Michaels incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
