Georgetown rips Milton, 7-2

The Milton Icehawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Georgetown Raiders, which beat Icehawks, 7-2.

The win by Georgetown clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

Anthony Marra had a great game for the Raiders, netting two goals. Marra found the back of the net 37 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown and again while 17:02 into the second to make the score 3-0 Georgetown.

Georgetown stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders forced the Icehawks goalie Ben Blacker to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Liam Board, who also had one goal and one assist, and John Adams, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Georgetown included Brendan Jacome and Kyle Allan, who each put in one. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Liam Clare, who had two and Scott Emerson, Ryan Smith, Adam Mascherin, Steven Mueller, and Andrew Court, who each chipped in one.

Milton was led by Jake Baird, who registered one goal and one assist. Baird scored 16:22 into the third period to make the score 6-1 Georgetown. Bryce Abraham assisted on the tally. Josh Pace also scored for Milton. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Mitch Graham and Michael Andlauer, who contributed one each.

Michael McNiven recorded 25 saves for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Icehawks' Blacker stopped 33 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Milton totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. For the Icehawks, Jeremy Gottzmann was ejected from the game.
