Early goals doom Shawville Pontiacs, falls to Renfrew Timberwolves, 8-3

Renfrew Timberwolves opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to an 8-3 over Shawville Pontiacs.

The win by Renfrew Timberwolves clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

Scott Conroy had one goal and two assists to lead Renfrew Timberwolves. Conroy scored 4:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Renfrew Timberwolves. Tanner Smith picked up the assist.

Renfrew Timberwolves also got points from Smith, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Sean Kyte also scored for Renfrew Timberwolves. More assists for Renfrew Timberwolves came via Issac Anderson, who had two and Michael Minns, Collin Raddatz, Troy Taylor, Kurtis Leclaire, Alex Campbell, and Tyler MacDonald, who contributed one a piece.

Renfrew Timberwolves was unable to stop Shawville Pontiacs from sending pucks towards the net, and Shawville Pontiacs eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Shawville Pontiacs was led by Liam Poirier, who registered one goal and one assist. Poirier scored 7:00 into the third period to make the score 7-3 Renfrew Timberwolves. Shawville Pontiacs also had goals scored by Julian Dumont and Mathew Labrosse, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Shawville Pontiacs were Dylan Scott and Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who each chipped in one.

Renfrew Timberwolves' Matt Gagne stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Renfrew Timberwolves incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Joshua Horner rejected 21 shots on goal for Shawville Pontiacs. Shawville Pontiacs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
