McLean nets hat trick, leads Arnprior Packers to 7-4 win over Almonte Thunder

John McLean netted a hat trick to lead Arnprior Packers over Almonte Thunder, 7-4.

McLean notched his first tally 17:06 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:17 into the third and at 19:33 into the third.

The win gave Arnprior Packers a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Arnprior Packers also got points from Chris Marchand, who also had two goals and one assist. Damian Armstrong also scored for Arnprior Packers. In addition, Arnprior Packers received assists from Patrick McGrath, who had two and Marc Rowe, Brian Taylor, James Prebble, and Dallas Farr, who contributed one a piece.

Almonte Thunder's offense rang up 32 shots on Arnprior Packers' net.

Almonte Thunder was helped by Liam Killeen, who finished with one goal. Killeen scored 4:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Tyler McKechnie provided the assist. Almonte Thunder additionally got points from Luke Martin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brandon Mendham, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ben Wade, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Almonte Thunder came via Riley Shore, Terry Mallon, Conor Rolland, and Nick Villeneuve, who each chipped in one.

Erik Miksik recorded 28 saves for Arnprior Packers. Arnprior Packers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Almonte Thunder's Richard Barr stopped 23 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Almonte Thunder incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
