Rhyno lifts Dorchester over Thamesford, 7-4Thamesford District Rec Tue, Feb 25, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dorchester Dolphins relied on the scoring touch of Shayne Rhyno, who netted two goals, to beat the Thamesford Trojans, 7-4. Rhyno found the back of the net 3:40 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Dorchester and again while on the power play 5:18 into the third to make the score 5-4 Dorchester.After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Thamesford faces elimination next time out. Dorchester kept the Trojans' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Hutcheson made 43 saves on 50 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Dorchester additionally got points from Liam Gillooly, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Gus Ford, who also registered one goal and one assist. Dorchester also got a goal from Brady Verougstraete as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Matt Ross, who had two and Tyler Blue, Dylan Salter, Cale Duberry, Chad Brulotte, Brendon O Shaughnessy, Bryan McCauley, and Collin Hartwick, who contributed one a piece. Thamesford forced the Dolphins goalie Craig Wood to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Team could not crack Dorchester's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Trojans were helped by Mitch Davies, who racked up one goal and one assist. Davies scored on the power play 18:26 into the second period to make the score 4-4. A slashing penalty on Hartwick had put Thamesford on the power play. James Toye assisted on the tally. Thamesford also got points from Adam Levine, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Andrew McLennan, who also had one goal and one assist. Brad Chambers also scored for Thamesford. More assists for Thamesford came via Liam Billings and Stavros Mandrapilias, who each chipped in one. The Dolphins' Wood stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Dorchester incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Trojans incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
