Rhyno's big game bests Thamesford in 6-1 Dorchester win

Shayne Rhyno was all over the ice for the Dorchester Dolphins, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Dorchester's 6-1 win over the Thamesford Trojans.

Rhyno found the back of the net 7:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester and again while on the power play 18:32 into the first to make the score 3-1 Dorchester.

The win gave the Dolphins a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Dorchester was led by goalie Craig Wood, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Wood managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.75 prior to the game.

The Dolphins kept Thamesford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Hutcheson made 33 saves on 39 shots.

Dorchester additionally got points from Gus Ford, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Dorchester included Chad Brulotte, Brendon O Shaughnessy, and Bryan McCauley, who each put in one. In addition, Dorchester received assists from Tyler Blue, who had two and Cale Duberry and Tommy Prokes, who contributed one a piece.

The Trojans forced Dorchester goalie Wood to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Thamesford was led by Andrew McLennan, who scored the team's only goal. McLennan scored on the power play 12:53 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Trojans earned a power play opportunity when Brady Verougstraete was put in the box for tripping. Kyle Walker provided the assist.

The Dolphins incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Thamesford incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
