The Ayr Centennials' Jake Whibbs scored 12:13 into overtime to beat the New Hamburg Firebirds, 5-4 (OT). With the win, Ayr evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. The Centennials came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Ayr trailed 3-0 after a goal by New Hamburg's David Jennings at 8:46 in the second period. The Centennials knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Eric Hackborn at 19:11 in the third period. Ayr was paced by Whibbs, who racked up one goal and one assist. The Centennials' offense rang up 43 shots on the Firebirds' net. Ayr also got points from Anthony Pullia, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Ayr included Spencer Sweazy and Austin Sine, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Ayr were Jordan Pettitt, who had three and Andrew Richard and Brendan Schaefer, who contributed one a piece. New Hamburg forced Ayr goalie Mitch Figueirdo to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Firebirds were led by Taylor Wood, who grabbed two goals. Wood scored the first of his two goals at 12:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Hamburg. Kory Nowak assisted on the tally. Wood's next tally made the score 4-3 New Hamburg with 7:38 left in the third period. New Hamburg also got a goal from Kyle Mohr as well. More assists for New Hamburg came via Matt Yantzi, Tyler Randerson, and Kyle McDonald, who each chipped in one. Figueirdo recorded 37 saves for the Centennials. Ayr incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. New Hamburg's Eric Peicheff stopped 38 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Firebirds incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
