Penetang erases deficit to stun Schomberg, 5-4

The Penetang Kings rallied from two goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Schomberg Cougars.

Penetang never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Kings trailed 4-2 after a goal by Schomberg's JP Crescenzi at 13:13 in the third period. Penetang knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Jack Scanlan at 17:59 in the third period. The Kings netted the game winner at 18:48 in the third period on a goal by Scanlan.

The win gave Penetang a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Kings were led by Ryan Young, who registered one goal and one assist.

Penetang's offense rang up 41 shots on the Cougars' net.

Penetang also got points from Scanlan, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jordan Schwartz, who also had one goal and one assist, and Craig Robinson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Mac Flewelling also scored for Penetang. More assists for Penetang came via Hayden Cole, who had one and Matt Meher, who had two.

Schomberg was helped by Ryley Egerton, who registered one goal. Egerton scored 2:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Schomberg. Declan Lampe picked up the assist. Schomberg additionally got points from Kiefer McIntosh, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Schomberg also got a goal from John Gage as well. In addition, Schomberg received assists from Arran Macdonald, Chris Wilson, and Brandon Yorke, who contributed one a piece.

Adam Redgate rejected 18 shots on goal for the Kings. Penetang incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Kings, Ryan Shaw was ejected from the game. Taylor Ewart recorded 36 saves for the Cougars. Schomberg incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
