Doner's hat trick boosts Ottawa Canadians over Clarence Beavers, 7-1

Casey Doner netted a hat trick to lead Ottawa Canadians over Clarence Beavers, 7-1.

Doner got on the scoresheet 5:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:50 into the first and at 7:29 into the second.

The win by Ottawa Canadians clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

Clarence Beavers was stymied by Ottawa Canadians netminder Dominic Plaschy, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Even though Plaschy played well, his goals against average suffered, as his one goal against exceeded his season average of 0.84.

Ottawa Canadians made Clarence Beavers' netminders to work without much rest, racking up 36 shots and forcing 29 saves. Ryan McLaughlin made 18 stops and Philippe Quesnel made 11.

Others who scored for Ottawa Canadians included Mitch Parker, who had two and Scott MciLroy and Ben Hartley, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa Canadians were Connor Primeau, Stefan Valvur, Connor Devereaux, Matt Crozier, Rob Darnowski, Jordan Stouros, and Tom Kesheshian, who each chipped in one.

Ottawa Canadians was unable to stop Clarence Beavers from sending pucks towards the net, and Clarence Beavers eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Alec MacKenzie also scored for Clarence Beavers. More assists for Clarence Beavers came via Nick Draper and Brennan Tousignant, who contributed one a piece.

Ottawa Canadians incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Clarence Beavers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
