Ottawa West Golden Knights downs Gatineau Mustangs, 5-2

Phil Edgar had one point to lead Ottawa West Golden Knights to a 5-2 victory over Gatineau Mustangs.

The win by Ottawa West Golden Knights clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

Ottawa West Golden Knights kept Gatineau Mustangs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jean-Philippe Giroux made 38 saves on 43 shots.

Ottawa West Golden Knights also got points from Derrin Lehoux, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Zac Rodier, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Ottawa West Golden Knights also got a goal from Dave Kilrea as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa West Golden Knights were Ethan Allard, who had two and Matt Connolly and Eric Wintjes, who each chipped in one.

Gatineau Mustangs was led by Vincent Proulx, who registered two goals. Proulx scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Gatineau Mustangs had taken the advantage when Ottawa West Golden Knights' Mike Darnowski got sent off for high sticking. Mikael Gervais assisted on the tally. Proulx's next tally on the power play made the score 5-2 Ottawa West Golden Knights with 13:57 left in the third period. Gabriel Tourangeau picked up the assist. In addition, Gatineau Mustangs received assists from Simon Damphousse, who had one.

Eric Plumadore made 20 saves for Ottawa West Golden Knights on 22 shots. Ottawa West Golden Knights incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Gatineau Mustangs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
