Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Dallas Stars (MM) defeated Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO). The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout. Dallas Stars (MM) also got a shootout goal from Cody Wickline.Dallas Stars (MM) saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Dallas Stars (MM) made the score 2-0 on a power play goal by Wickline at 5:04 in the third period. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) evened things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Tristen Pfeifer at 14:14 in the third period. Dallas Stars (MM) was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of nine man advantages. Troy York also scored for Dallas Stars (MM). In addition, Dallas Stars (MM) received assists from Ryan James, Colin OBrien, Cole Percifield, and Caleb Waters, who each chipped in one. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.
