Thamesford downs Exeter in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

James Toye gave the Thamesford Trojans a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Exeter Hawks when he scored 16:15 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Exeter faces elimination next time out.

Thamesford was sparked by Toye, who tallied one goal.

The Trojans stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Thamesford's offense rang up 38 shots on Exeter's net.

Others who scored for Thamesford included Alex Lumani, Adam Levine, and Avery Antone, who scored one goal each. More assists for Thamesford came via Kyle Walker, Andrew McLennan, and Stavros Mandrapilias, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks kept the Trojans' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Hutcheson made 40 saves on 43 shots.

Exeter was led by Cam Jude, who registered one goal and one assist. Jude scored short handed 13:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Exeter. The Hawks found themselves down a man on Brandan Willis's tripping. Trevor Thornton picked up the assist. Exeter also had goals scored by Joe Dykstra and Tyler McNaughton, who each put in one.

Thamesford incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Joe Metzger rejected 34 shots on goal for Exeter. The Hawks incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
