Amherstburg downs Belle River in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Amherstburg Admirals' Dan Matoski scored 6:54 into overtime to beat the Belle River Canadiens, 3-2 (OT).

With the win, Amherstburg evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Admirals were sparked by Matoski, who registered one goal.

Belle River was unable to stop Amherstburg from sending pucks towards the net, and the Admirals eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Amherstburg got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Amherstburg also got points from Blake Rutckyj, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Amherstburg also got a goal from Steven Spada as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were Mark Sobocan, who had two and Tyler Lawrence and Ryan Jones, who each chipped in one.

The Canadiens were helped by Connor Goodchild, who racked up one goal. Goodchild scored 8:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Belle River. Mac Laforest assisted on the tally. Sebastian Kanally also scored for Belle River. More assists for Belle River came via Branden Larocque, Mike Ditty, and Zack Bedard, who contributed one a piece.

Arren Romeril rejected 28 shots on goal for the Admirals. Amherstburg incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mitch Topliffe made 32 saves for Belle River on 35 shots. The Canadiens incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
