Brandon Yantzi had one goal and three assists to lead the New Hamburg Firebirds to a 7-4 victory over the Tavistock Braves. Yantzi got on the board by slotting home a goal 11:40 into the third period to make the score 6-4 New Hamburg. Yantzi dished an assist on Carter Tracey's goal that made the score 1-0 New Hamburg at 5:45 into the first period. He then added assists on Jaden Goetz's goal at 5:54 into the second and on Tyler Randerson's goal at 15:17 into the third.After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Tavistock faces elimination next time out. New Hamburg pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 35 penalty minutes. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:12 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Braves were unable to stop the Firebirds from sending pucks towards the net, and New Hamburg eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. New Hamburg also got points from Randerson, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Goetz, who also had one goal and one assist, and Tracey, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kyle Mohr also scored for New Hamburg. In addition, New Hamburg received assists from Sean Kienapple, who had one and David Jennings, who had two. Tavistock's offense rang up 31 shots on the Firebirds' net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Braves were helped by Tyson Zehr, who tallied one goal. Zehr scored 8:00 into the third period to make the score 5-4 New Hamburg. Dylan Yantzi picked up the assist. Tavistock additionally got points from Matthew Lupton, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tavistock also had goals scored by Derek Cowing and Drew Wagler, who each put in one. More assists for Tavistock came via Mackenzie Kalbfleisch, who had one and Sean Leslie, who had two. New Hamburg's Eric Peicheff stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Firebirds registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For New Hamburg, Taylor Wood and Tracey were ejected from the contest. Trevor Bloch rejected 26 shots on goal for Tavistock. The Braves totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Tavistock ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tristan Hohl was ejected from the game.
