Jack Scanlan netted a hat trick to lead the Penetang Kings over the Midland Flyers, 10-0. Scanlan's first goal came 3:53 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:57 into the first and at 2:06 into the third.The win gave Penetang a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Kings scored early and often, and held a 5-0 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play. Penetang's penalty kill excelled, as the Kings gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays. Penetang forced Flyers' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 45 shots and forcing 35 saves. Marco Colangelo made 28 stops and Andrew Best made seven. The Kings stifled Midland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Penetang additionally got points from Matt Fischer, who also grabbed two goals and two assists and Ryan Young, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Penetang also got a goal from Jordan Schwartz as well. In addition, Penetang received assists from Hayden Cole, Kyle Burns, Austin Fischer, and Mackenzie Bumstead, who each chipped in one and Ryan Shaw and Matt Meher, who contributed three a piece. Adam Redgate rejected 19 shots on goal for Penetang. The Kings incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
