The Midland Flyers' Cam Russell had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-6 win over the Orillia Terriers. Russell's first goal came 4:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:22 into the first, at 6:01 into the second, and at 17:57 into the second.The win by Midland clinched the best of three series at 2-0. Orillia was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Flyers were able to score four times while on the power play. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:58 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Midland forced the Terriers goalie Gordie Weiss to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Orillia kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marco Colangelo made 33 saves on 39 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals. The Terriers were helped by Josh Allan, who tallied two goals. Allan scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:20 into the second period to make the score 5-4 Orillia. Orillia earned a power play opportunity when Sean Crowe was put in the box for boarding. Jason Binnie picked up the assist. Allan's next tally on the power play made the score 7-6 Midland with 33 seconds left in the second period. Daniel Lee provided the assist. Orillia additionally got points from Binnie, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Zac Hele, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Lee, who also registered one goal and one assist. Orillia also got a goal from Andrew Deune AP as well. In addition, Orillia received assists from Haden Hiles, who had one and Ryan Tucci and Marty Lawlor, who contributed two a piece.
