The Midland Flyers' Steven Pickard scored 1:23 into overtime to beat the Orillia Terriers, 3-2 (OT). After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Orillia faces elimination next time out. Midland was sparked by Pickard, who grabbed one goal. The Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Orillia power plays. Midland's offense rang up 34 shots on the Terriers' net. Midland also had goals scored by Matt Brown and Bruce Brown, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Midland were Darren Nesbitt, Liam Spurgeon, Neal Burgess, Matt Smith, and Cam Russell, who each chipped in one. Orillia kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marco Colangelo made 37 saves on 39 shots. The Terriers were helped by Daniel Lee, who racked up one goal. Lee scored 3:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orillia. Ryan Tucci also scored for Orillia. In addition, Orillia received assists from Marty Lawlor and Andreas Alexiou, who contributed one a piece. Midland totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Flyers, Kaden Shearer and Jake Evans were ejected from the contest. Orillia's Gordie Weiss stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Terriers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
