Doherty nets hat trick, leads Campbellford to 8-0 win over Deseronto

Jeremiah Doherty lifted the Campbellford Rebels to an 8-0 victory with a hat trick against the Deseronto Storm.

Doherty notched his first tally 18:34 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:42 into the second and at 5:27 into the third.

Campbellford made Storm's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 36 shots and forcing 28 saves. Brock Tufts made 18 stops and Liam Smith APM made 10. The Rebels found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Campbellford averages 4.1 goals per game.

Campbellford also got points from Cole Hamilton, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Campbellford also got a goal from Joshua Leavey as well. More assists for Campbellford came via Andrew Doxtator, who had two, Jordan Boutilier, who had three, and William Lameroux, Brad Jacklin, TJ Patterson, and Grant Fry, who contributed one a piece.

Deseronto did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 13 saves. The Storm's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Deseronto finished with 18 penalty minutes.

Cole Mahoney made 13 saves for the Rebels on 13 shots. Campbellford incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Storm registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
